i want to change the subject, again
Created during the pandemic, but not yet performed for a live audience.
co-direcvtor Paul Herwig has created a wild new live art performance, using the figure of Andy Warhol as an avatar to explore the present moment, and jumble-cutting the footage from an infamous 1966 TV interview with the great American artist as his canvass. OLA Co-Artistic Director Paul Herwig has created an immersive 3-panel 38ft wide living digital-art-mural, wherein he explores the metaphysical fault-line between art, social unrest, and civic responsibility.

This project was made possible by funding through the Minnesota State Arts Board's Artist Initiative grant program. Individual artists are awarded a sizable sum to take the initiative in making a significant step in their careers, and in this year of the program, MSAB asked artists to specifically address the challenge of making and sharing their work during the pandemic.
